MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - First responders were celebrated in Marquette County on Saturday during the third annual Police and Firefighter's ball. The ball, held once again at the Northern Center by the Wealth Strategy Group, honored those who sacrifice so much for the community.
Not only are police are firefighters supported, but a charity is as well. Every year they choose a charity to receive money raised during ticket sales and raffles at the ball.
“The number one thing we're trying to do here is to recognize the police and firemen throughout the county and what they do in service for us and the sacrifice that they make and their families make on our behalf,” said Rich Tegge, president of Wealth Strategy Group.
The ball sold out before it even began. Wealth Strategy Group is now excited to see where the money will be donated.
