Ball drop to raise funds for Faith Home, Teen Challenge - The Turlock Journal

It will be raining balls on Saturday as the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department helicopter will be participating in an aerial fundraiser for a local faith-based recovery program.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s helicopter will drop balls purchased for a $25 donation onto a painted target on the Faith Home Ranch campus at noon on Saturday. The ball closest to the hole is the winner of the $1,000 grand prize.

“We are thrilled to partner with Faith Home Network to provide the helicopter for this awesome community event,” said Stanislaus County Sheriff Jeff Dirkse. “A healthy safe Stanislaus County is our number one priority.”

Last year, 2,700 balls were purchased for the virtual event, raising almost $70,000 for the nonprofit that provides an intense 12-16-month residential program with Bible-based instruction in a structured and caring environment for men age 18 and older dealing with life-controlling problems.

The program is located on a 37-acre working ranch in Ceres and a six-month re-entry center for men in Turlock.

“Every penny of every donation earned during this event will go to funding our mission of restoring hope to men, women and families of people struggling with life controlling issues,” said Lewie Roche, public relations supervisor for Faith Home Network.

All who would like to participate can visit FHTC.life to buys balls or get more information and attend the ball drop.

Malachi Nelson commits to USC: Five-star QB, former Oklahoma commit follows Lincoln Riley to Trojans - CBSSports.com

bolaboladulu.blogspot.com
malachi-nelson-oklahoma.jpg

Malachi Nelson, a five-star quarterback and the No. 2 overall player in the Class of 2023 according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, announced his commitment to Lincoln Riley and USC in a Twitter post on Tuesday. Nelson is Riley's first commitment at his new program since abruptly leaving Oklahoma and taking over the Trojans this past Sunday.

If losing Riley to USC wasn't enough of a gut punch for the Oklahoma program and its fans, Nelson's decision to commit to Riley adds even more pain. Nelson was committed to Oklahoma until Sunday, when he decommitted once it was finalized that Riley would be making the stunning move out west.

Nelson, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound native of Los Alamitos (California) High School, threw for 2,690 yards, tossed 39 touchdowns and nine interceptions as a junior. He was 85 of 115 for 1,513 yards, tossed 23 touchdowns and four interceptions as a sophomore in 2020.

Greg Biggins, national recruiting analyst for 247Sports, provided this scouting report on Riley's new quarterback.

"Nelson has all the physical tools you could want in a next level signal caller," Biggins wrote. "At 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, he has an athletic body with plenty of room to grow pack on good weight. He's a very fluid athlete in everything he does. He has a smooth, effortless release and the ball jumps out of his hand. He has a downfield arm, is accurate to all three levels of the field and can throw with touch and change speeds. He's a mature quarterback and already shows a high football IQ in terms of his decision making and how well he processes the position. He's a plus-athlete for a quarterback as well and shows the ability to extend plays and get out and pick up yards in the running game. He made a big jump this off-season and needs to show he can put it together with the pads on as a sophomore but no quarterback in the class has a higher ceiling right now than Nelson."

Nelson is just the second player to commit to the Trojans in the Class of 2023.

Five Unforgettable Moments in 2021 - DC United

bolaboladulu.blogspot.com

Andy Najar’s D.C. United Comeback

As a beloved former player, Andy Najar made his triumphant return to the District for his second spell with his hometown club when he signed on April 16, 2021. Najar initially signed with D.C. United in 2010, and after taking the league by storm, he signed with Belgian powerhouse RSC Anderlecht in January 2013. In his eight years away from the Black-and-Red, Najar spent six seasons with Anderlecht competing in elite European competitions. In 2020, after a turbulent run of injuries in Europe, Najar returned to MLS when he signed for LAFC. The Honduran international was unable to rediscover his form in LA and after making only eight appearances that season, Najar was released from his contract. Despite the disappointment in his first season back in MLS, it set up an unlikely return to his boyhood club where his soccer dream began eight years prior. After careful monitoring of his fitness, Najar emerged as one of the most exciting center backs in the league under Losada’s high-energy pressing system. He was defined for his passing and dribbling ability when he first emerged in 2010 and was able to excel in both of those categories despite being deployed deeper on the field. His mazing runs out of the back, skill on the ball, and intuitive passing made him one of the most dangerous center backs in the league and fans were reminded about what made the player so special when he initially joined the club in 2010. After scoring once and recording three assists in 26 appearances in 2021, Najar has flourished since returning home and fans can look forward to Najar continuing to make his stamp on the District in 2022.

Five-year plan by Parks and Rec building trust - Laurinburg Exchange

bolaboladulu.blogspot.com

LAURINBURG — Scotland County Parks and Recreation is in the midst of a five-year plan that Director Bryan Graham hopes will build trust and opportunities throughout the area.

“We’ve seen tons of positive growth over the past five years, but when the multi-purpose building never came about, we had put a lot of hopes and work into that, so we were knocked off our feet,” he told the Rotary Club on Tuesday. “We wondered where we’d go from there, but I had a Plan B — something to gain community trust and build outreach throughout the county.”

That’s where the five-year plan came in.

“This was something we could do within our budget that people could see,” Graham explained. “We asked the county for $40,000 per year and they agreed.”

During the first year, improvements were made at Washington Park, where area residents were allowed to choose what kind of playground they wanted and the colors.

“That right there built trust,” Graham said.

In the second year, Hammond Park received a huge makeover that Parks and Rec partnered with the Scotland Memorial Foundation to complete.

“We were able to do $175,000 in renovations for $40,000 in taxpayer money,” Graham said. “And it was a true community build because we got help from people within the city, the fire department, the high school football and softball teams, and the Scotland Memorial Foundation.”

Currently in year three, work will get done in JC Park.

Graham said Parks and Rec also has projects going on in other areas with fencing, lighting, walking paths and even a foot golf course at the Morgan Complex.

“@We want to build diversity in our parks system so there is something for everyone,” he said. “And I like where we’re at in our third year of the five-year plan.”

He said the plan for the fourth year is to build an all-inclusive structure at the Morgan Complex that will accommodate those in wheelchairs. In the final year, he hopes to see general enhancements at all the parks, including such things as upgrading signage, benches, lighting and more.

Graham also said that, within the next couple of years, Scotland County will see the number of community centers double — from the current Scotland Place and Wagram Recreation Center to include the I. Ellis Johnson facility and the laurel Hill Community Center.

Another area Graham is proud of are the programs that have been developed for senior citizens — such as Letters of Love, the Cares Act, low-energy assistance and Medicare enrollment.

“The opportunities we create now and over the past few years will open doors and allow for positive things for the next several decades here,” he said.

Bengals are back: Five reasons Cincinnati is in the hunt for first playoff berth since 2015 - CBSSports.com

bolaboladulu.blogspot.com

USA Today

The Cincinnati Bengals' resurgence can be traced back to Dec. 30, 2018. The Bengals had just concluded a disappointing 6-10 season with a 16-13 road loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Marvin Lewis, who had previously guided the Bengals to four division titles and seven playoff berths, fielded postgame questions about his future. Given the Bengals' state at the time, along with the fact that division rivals Cleveland and Baltimore were kicking off new eras with promising rookie quarterbacks, Cincinnati fans braced themselves for a return to the franchise's losing ways of the 1990s and early 2000s.

Things got worse before they got better; Cincinnati won just two games in 2019 and were 4-11-1 in 2020. But following their season-ending loss in 2018, the Bengals made several big decisions that ultimately led to the success of the current team. Led by coach Zac Taylor, the Bengals are one of the biggest feel-good stories of the 2021 season. At 7-4, Cincinnati is just one game back of the Ravens for first place in the AFC North division standings. Ironically, the Bengals' most convincing win of the season to date came against the Steelers, as Cincinnati stomped on their former tormentor to the tune of a 41-10 shellacking in front of a packed Paul Brown Stadium this past Sunday.

As they continue to edge closer to their first winning season and possible playoff berth since 2015, here's a look at five things the Bengals did over the past several years that helped lay the foundation for their newfound success.

Sticking with Taylor

Bengals owner Mike Brown offered his public support of Taylor shortly after the end of the 2020 season. Taylor, who was hired at age 36 a year after serving as the Los Angeles Rams' quarterbacks coach, went just 6-25-1 during his first two seasons in Cincinnati. But despite Taylor's underwhelming record, along with mounting criticism from the outside, Brown stuck with his coach.

"Our fans wanted a fresh new direction two years ago, and that is what we aimed to do in hiring a bright, energetic head coach in Zac Taylor," Brown said in a statement. "We remain bullish on the foundation Zac is building, and we look forward to next year giving our fans the winning results we all want. In Zac's two years, we have added many new starters and contributors through the draft, we have invested heavily in free agency, and we have acquired a talented young quarterback with a bright future.

"This season we faced challenges with injuries at key positions and missed opportunities. I am proud of our football team for fighting hard through adversity. That adversity and hard work will help us next season. We'll enter the offseason looking to shore up our weaknesses and amplify the strengths of our talented young core. We are not discouraged, but instead feel motivated and confident that next year will reap the benefits of the work that has been done to date. We must capitalize on the opportunities in front of us. Next year we will earn our stripes."

Brown's patience has been rewarded, as Taylor has the Bengals off to their best start in six years. He also has the buy-in of the Bengals' locker room.

"Our preparation all week, and the last two weeks, has been great," quarterback Joe Burrow said after Sunday's game, via Charlie Goldsmith of the Cincinnati Enquirer. "I knew exactly what I was seeing. Zac called a great game, put me in good positions to make completions."

"What we have is special," defensive end Trey Hendrickson added. "That's what we've been planning on doing since I walked in the door."

Tough departures

Following Taylor's arrival, the Bengals began to part ways with the remaining players on the roster who had helped Cincinnati make five consecutive playoff appearances from 2011-15. The team moved on from longtime starting quarterback Andy Dalton after the 2019 season. They traded former Pro Bowl defensive end Carlos Dunlap before last year's trade deadline. As tough as those moves were, the Bengals made even tougher ones when they parted ways with two of the best players in franchise annals: defensive tackle Geno Atkins and receiver A.J. Green. Atkins was released this past March, and Green signed with the Cardinals as an unrestricted free agent.

While not entirely popular decisions at the time, the Bengals' ability to part with players who had helped them win a slew of games is paying dividends now.

Key acquisitions

As promised, Brown's team spent considerable money during the past two offseasons. While not every signing has been a home run, most of the team's notable free agent signings have paid off. Specifically, the Bengals have focused on defense as it relates to offseason spending. They have signed several veteran defenders in recent years that include defensive backs Mike HiltonEli AppleChidobe AwuzieVonn Bell, and linemen Trey HendricksonLarry Ogunjobi, and D.J. Reader

The Bengals' defense has also continued to receive stellar play from homegrown talent that includes Sam HubbardLogan Wilson and Jessie Bates III. Add it all up and you have a defense that is currently sixth in the NFL in scoring, fourth in rushing defense, and tied for 10th in sacks.

"We take pride in everybody in our defensive room," said Hilton, whose pick-six on Sunday essentially ended the contest. "We know our offense is explosive, so we try to give them as many possessions as possible. Defensively, we've been handling business."

Cincinnati's recent offseason success has also included the NFL Draft. Instead of trading it for players and draft capital, the Bengals decided to keep the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 Draft, a pick they used to select Burrow. While it's still early, Burrow appears to be on his way to a long and fruitful NFL career. Through 21 games, the 2019 Heisman Trophy winner has completed over 67% of his throws with more than twice as many touchdowns (35) then interceptions (17). Most importantly, Burrow is 9-11-1 as a starter after winning just two starts during his rookie season.

The last two drafts have also included Wilson, receiver Tee Higgins, and fellow wideout Ja'Marr Chase, the frontrunner to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Linebacker Joseph Ossai, the Bengals' third pick in the 2021 draft, showed significant promise this summer before suffering a season-ending injury during the preseason.

Setting Burrow up for success

Burrow was hit far too much as a rookie. The need to better protect the franchise QB was further amplified when he suffered a season-ending knee injury just 10 games into his rookie season. The Bengals responded by signing Riley Reiff, a veteran offensive tackle who came to Cincinnati with 138 regular-season starts under his belt.

The Bengals faced a dilemma with the No. 5 overall pick in last year's draft. They could use the pick on reuniting Burrow with Chase, his teammate at LSU, or use the pick to acquire Penei Sewell, the consensus best offensive lineman in the draft. Cincinnati ultimately chose to select Chase while using their second-round pick on former USC offensive tackle Jackson Carman. Chase and Burrow picked up where they left off in Baton Rouge, as Chase leads all rookies with 50 receptions for 908 yards and eight touchdowns. Carman has also come in and contributed as a rookie, as he started in five of the season's first eight games before a back injury sidelined him for three weeks. In Carman's absence, the Bengals have received solid play from Hakeem Adeniji, a sixth-round pick in the 2020 draft.

While he is still sacked too much (Burrow has been taken down 30 times thus far), Burrow's improved protection has helped him lead what is currently the NFL's sixth-ranked scoring offense. After torching defenses during the first half of the season, Chase has lately been as valuable opening up the rest of the offense for teammates Higgins, Tyler Boyd and running back Joe Mixon. With the Steelers' top cornerback blanketing Chase on Sunday, Higgins "Mossed" his defender while pulling down a 32-yard touchdown reception in Sunday's blowout victory. Mixon rumbled for a career-high 165 yards and two touchdowns.

Restoring Bengals pride

The team underwent a significant makeover during the past offseason that included revamped uniforms and the creation of the franchise's Ring of Honor. Brown announced that team founder Paul Brown and Hall of Fame left tackle Anthony Munoz would be part of the Ring of Honor's inaugural class, while season-ticket holders voted to also include former quarterback and 1981 league MVP Ken Anderson and former All-Pro cornerback Ken Riley.

The team's inaugural Ring of Honor class was celebrated at halftime of Cincinnati's Week 4 home game against the Jaguars on Thursday night, a game the Bengals won after overcoming a 14-0 deficit. It was an epic moment for a franchise and fanbase that was simultaneously celebrating its past as well as its present. The future certainly looks good, too, thanks to the decisions the franchise has made over the course of the past several years.

Der received many honors during his more than 19 years of service with the Department, including five Unit Citations, two Certificates of Appreciation, 11 Commendation Certificates, an Investigative Award, and numerous Memorandums of Recognition and Letters of Appreciation.

I look forward to working with Greg over the next weeks to ensure a seamless transition of leadership.”

Howard County has seen trends of decreasing crime across many categories since 2017, including robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and auto theft. County Executive Ball attributed the success in part to strong public safety partnerships and community bonds, and the leadership of departing Chief Lisa Myers.

Five Below Looks Vulnerable Ahead of Earnings - RealMoney

bolaboladulu.blogspot.com

The charts of Five Below (FIVE) are looking weak and could suffer another decline that could be precipitated by their next earnings report set for release after the close of trading Wednesday.

Let's review the charts and indicators. In our June 3 review of FIVE we wrote that "I have no special knowledge of what earnings for FIVE will be, but the charts and indicators suggest the risk of further weakness in the weeks ahead. Avoid the long side of FIVE for now."
In this daily bar chart, below, FIVE traded sideways from early June to late July. An unsustainable rally unfolded in August but by early October the rally and more had been erased. Prices made another rally into November but it has so far stopped at the underside of a resistance zone from August. FIVE is not far above the rising 50-day and 200-day moving averages.
The daily On-Balance-Volume (OBV) line has been in a decline from May and shows a lower high in August and a still lower high in November. This pattern and trend suggests more aggressive selling for several months. The Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) oscillator has crossed to the downside for a fresh take profits sell signal.
In this weekly Japanese candlestick chart of FIVE, below, we can see a bearish engulfing pattern this month to mark another top reversal. In August we can see an earlier bearish engulfing pattern. The 40-week moving average line is still positive but the weekly OBV line and the MACD oscillator are bearish.
In this daily Point and Figure chart of FIVE, below, we can see a potential downside price target of $192.
Bottom line strategy: I have no special knowledge of what FIVE is going to report to shareholders on Wednesday but the charts look weak and I would avoid the long side of FIVE for the foreseeable future.

2022 NFL Draft order: Jets holding two of top five picks - NFL.com

bolaboladulu.blogspot.com

This is a look at the first-round order for the 2022 NFL Draft heading into Week 13 of the 2021 NFL season, along with the top three needs for each team. The order is determined by record, using strength of schedule as the first tiebreaker (click here to see a full list of the draft-order tiebreakers). Keep in mind -- teams 19-32 would make the playoffs if the season ended today and are marked as PL (short for playoffs) in the order below. The draft order for playoff teams is determined by the results of postseason play.

NOTE: Arrows reflect movement from last week's order.

Detroit Lions
Detroit Lions
0-10-1 · Strength of schedule: .536

Biggest needs: QB, WR, Edge

Week 13 opponent: vs. Vikings

DP: CB remains a top need in Detroit, but edge rusher gets a spin on the list this week for a team with the lowest pressure rate in the league (21.3%), per Next Gen Stats.

Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars
2-9 · .516

Biggest needs: WR, CB, OL

Week 13 opponent: at Rams

CG: The Jaguars' defense has forced an NFL-low six turnovers, including just five interceptions, and no defensive back has more than one pick. Whether it's at cornerback or safety, a true ballhawk in the secondary is a big 2022 need for this team.

Houston Texans
Houston Texans
2-9 · .520

Biggest needs: QB, OL, WR

Week 13 opponent: vs. Colts

CG: It's not a top-three need, but add tight end to the lengthy list of positions that could have a new look in 2022. Three Texans tight ends enter free agency, including their top two pass catchers at this spot (Pharaoh Brown, Jordan Akins).

New York Jets
3-8 · .528

Biggest needs: WR, S, OL

Week 13 opponent: vs. Eagles

CG: The Jets' extra first-round pick, acquired from the Seattle Seahawks in the Jamal Adams trade, is looking much more valuable than expected. Meanwhile, an extra second-rounder picked up from Carolina in the Sam Darnold deal is looking like a steal.

New York Jets

PICK ACQUIRED FROM THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Seahawks' record: 3-8 (.544)

Seahawks' Week 13 opponent: vs. 49ers

See Pick No. 4 for analysis of the Jets' needs and the bottom of this article for analysis of the Seahawks' needs.

New York Giants

PICK ACQUIRED FROM THE CHICAGO BEARS

Bears' record: 4-7 (.516)

Bears' Week 13 opponent: vs. Cardinals

See Pick No. 7 for analysis of the Giants' needs and the bottom of this article for analysis of the Bears' needs.

New York Giants
New York Giants
4-7 · .537

Biggest needs: OL, Edge, TE

Week 13 opponent: at Dolphins

DP: Bolstering the interior O-line will be a must for the Giants in 2022, but they could certainly use an upgrade at right tackle, too, given starter Nate Solder's struggles.

Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers
5-7 · .467

Biggest needs: QB, OL, CB

Week 13 opponent: Bye

DP: Carolina is collapsing behind an offensive line that has allowed the third-highest pressure rate in the league (32.7%), per Next Gen Stats.

Philadelphia Eagles
5-7 · .492

Biggest needs: S, Edge, LB

Week 13 opponent: at Jets

DP: Bad news for the Eagles: They lost to the division-rival Giants on Sunday and the first-round pick they acquired from the Dolphins fell from No. 2 to No. 10 overall during Miami's winning streak over the past month.

Philadelphia Eagles

PICK ACQUIRED FROM THE MIAMI DOLPHINS

Dolphins' record: 5-7 (.496)

Dolphins' Week 13 opponent: vs. Giants

See Pick No. 9 for analysis of the Eagles' needs and the playoff-teams section for analysis of the Dolphins' needs.

New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints
5-6 · .532

Biggest needs: QB, OT, WR

Week 13 opponent: vs. Cowboys

DP: It's been 40-plus years since the Saints have spent a first-round pick on a quarterback. If New Orleans, losers of four straight, can't get things turned around in December, the team could end up in good position to end that streak in 2022.

Minnesota Vikings
5-6 · .536

Biggest needs: CB, Edge, LB

Week 13 opponent: at Lions

DP: Two of the Vikings' top three linebackers are ticketed for free agency, including four-time Pro Bowl selectee Anthony Barr, who has only played in eight games since the start of last season.

Philadelphia Eagles

PICK ACQUIRED FROM THE INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (Contingent on Carson Wentz playing 75% of team's snaps; Wentz has played 98% of snaps entering Week 13)

Colts' record: 6-6 (.496)

Colts' Week 13 opponent: at Texans

See Pick No. 9 for analysis of the Eagles' needs and the bottom of this article for analysis of the Colts' needs.

Pittsburgh Steelers
5-5-1 · .500

Biggest needs: QB, CB, OT

Week 13 opponent: vs. Ravens

CG: This week, we bump cornerback up to Pittsburgh's No. 2 need. Joe Haden ranks as the No. 46 CB in the NFL, per Pro Football Focus, the highest of any Steeler. He can walk after the season, but even if he's brought back, an upgrade is very much needed.

Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns
6-6 · .511

Biggest needs: DT, Edge, S

Week 13 opponent: Bye

CG: The safety position makes its debut on the Browns' list of needs. Ronnie Harrison could be winding down his run in Cleveland, Grant Delpit's first pro season coming off an Achilles injury hasn't inspired confidence, and John Johnson can't do it alone.

Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos
6-5 · .467

Biggest needs: QB, LB, Edge

Week 13 opponent: at Chiefs

CG: With Josey Jewell and Alexander Johnson out for the season with pectoral injuries, Denver GM George Paton is getting a preview of what the Broncos' defense would look like without the two free agents-to-be. If he doesn't like what he sees, off-the-ball linebackers could be a clear draft need.

Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders
6-5 · .524

Biggest needs: DT, OL, LB

Week 13 opponent: vs. Washington

CG: The Raiders' run defense ranks among the worst in the NFL (126 ypg) and most of their interior defensive linemen are playing on expiring deals. A top defensive tackle presenting the right value early in the draft could be quite a temptation for GM Mike Mayock.

Washington Football Team
Washington Football Team
5-6 · .528

Biggest needs: QB, OL, WR

Week 13 opponent: at Raiders

DP: A loss to Seattle on Monday night would have placed Washington in the eighth slot in the draft order. Instead, the Football Team would make the playoffs if the season ended today. Welcome to wild-swing szn in the draft order.

Miami Dolphins

PICK ACQUIRED FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

49ers' record: 6-5 (.480)

49ers' Week 13 opponent: at Seahawks

Dolphins' biggest needs: OL, RB, Edge

CG: Since coming off the bench with a finger injury to lead a Week 10 upset win over the Ravens, Tua Tagovailoa has played some of his best football for the Dolphins. We're not listing quarterback as a primary need just 16 starts into a top-five pick's career, but given Miami's trade deadline interest in Deshaun Watson, it's fair to wonder if the club might draft a developmental prospect at the position if it decides to stick with Tua in 2022.

NOTE: See the bottom of this article for analysis of the 49ers' needs.

Los Angeles Chargers
6-5 · .552

Biggest needs: DT, WR, Edge

Week 13 opponent: at Bengals

CG: Whether the Chargers bring back WR Mike Williams will be a crucial decision where their draft plans are concerned. Justin Herbert must be kept awash in quality targets, and the season thus far has offered little sign that Jalen Guyton or Josh Palmer is ready to step into Williams' role next year.

Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills
7-4 · .428

Biggest needs: DL, OL, WR

Week 13 opponent: vs. Patriots

CG: I'm not listing CB for now, but it's worth noting that the Bills have gotten big value at a cheap price from undrafted CB Levi Wallace. He'll finally get his big payday this offseason, though. If it's not with Buffalo, his cornerback spot will present a need, especially with Tre'Davious White coming off a torn ACL.

Cincinnati Bengals
7-4 · .443

Biggest needs: DB, OL, DT

Week 13 opponent: vs. Chargers

CG: The Bengals' offensive skill talent can be downright explosive despite an offensive line that's been average at best. It should be a high draft priority, especially if the club doesn't re-sign G Quinton Spain and T Riley Reiff.

Detroit Lions

PICK ACQUIRED FROM THE LOS ANGELES RAMS

Rams' record: 7-4 (.480)

Rams' Week 13 opponent: vs. Vikings

See Pick No. 1 for analysis of the Lions' needs and the bottom of this article for analysis of the Rams' needs.

Dallas Cowboys
7-4 · .524

Biggest needs: DB, DL, TE

Week 13 opponent: at Saints

DP: There will be a void to fill at tight end if impending free agent Dalton Schultz prices himself out of Dallas coming off a breakout year.

Kansas City Chiefs
7-4 · .568

Biggest needs: DB, OT, Edge

Week 13 opponent: vs. Broncos

CG: Keep an eye on wide receiver, in addition to the three positions listed above. As one of the game's elite tight ends, Travis Kelce somewhat masks Kansas City's need for more production at WR opposite Tyreek Hill. But Josh Gordon was brought in for a reason, and he's not added any juice. He's one of four pending free agents at the position.

New England Patriots
8-4 · .463

Biggest needs: DB, LB, OT

Week 13 opponent: at Bills

CG: The price to re-sign CB J.C. Jackson appears to be getting bigger by the week. Bill Belichick doesn't like to compromise when it comes to his secondary, but he's also fearless about saying goodbye to expensive veterans. With Jackson and two safeties (Adrian Phillips, Devin McCourty) entering free agency, it could be a DB-heavy draft next spring.

Tennessee Titans
Tennessee Titans
8-4 · .481

Biggest needs: LB, TE, OL

Week 13 opponent: Bye

CG: In addition to the needs list above, the Titans will have decisions to make on a few wide receivers headed for the open market. Beyond that, A.J. Brown will have just one year left on his deal, and Julio Jones' age and injuries put his upside in question.

Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens
8-3 · .480

Biggest needs: DT, OL, Edge

Week 13 opponent: at Steelers

CG: It's shaping up to be a line-of-scrimmage kind of draft for the Ravens. Potential free agency losses mostly threaten the defensive front, although losing C Bradley Bozeman, who is having a strong season, would open a big hole in the middle of the offensive line.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
8-3 · .488

Biggest needs: OL, CB, DL

Week 13 opponent: at Falcons

DP: Tampa Bay could be in the market for help on the interior D-line with Ndamukong Suh, Steve McLendon and William Gholston -- all in their 30s -- playing on deals that expire in 2022.

Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers
9-3 · .485

Biggest needs: WR, Edge, DL

Week 13 opponent: Bye

DP: It might be more of a luxury than a need, but finding a disruptive running mate for Kenny Clark on the interior D-line would add more juice to a defense that has withstood injuries to play at a high level this season.

Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals
9-2 · .472

Biggest needs: Edge, CB, WR

Week 13 opponent: at Bears

DP: There are a handful of good options for the third spot on the needs list, but wide receiver gets the nod this week. Both A.J. Green and Christian Kirk, who leads the team in receiving, are due to reach free agency this offseason.

TEAMS CURRENTLY WITHOUT A FIRST-ROUND PICK

Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears

TRADED FIRST-ROUND PICK TO THE NEW YORK GIANTS

Biggest needs: OL, WR, CB

Week 13 opponent: vs. Cardinals

DP: The Bears have only one cornerback rated among Pro Football Focus' top 90 players at the position.

Indianapolis Colts

TRADED FIRST-ROUND PICK TO THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (Contingent on Carson Wentz playing 75% of team's snaps; Wentz has played 98% of snaps entering Week 13)

Biggest needs: OT, WR, TE

Week 13 opponent: at Texans

CG: Consider it all but certain that the Colts will give up their first-round pick to Philadelphia to complete the Carson Wentz trade. The trade requires Wentz to play 75 percent of the Colts' snaps in order to trigger first-round compensation, and Wentz makes his 13th consecutive start this Sunday.

Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams

TRADED FIRST-ROUND PICK TO THE DETROIT LIONS

Biggest needs: OL, CB, LB

Week 13 opponent: vs. Jaguars

DP: Teams continue to have success targeting LB Troy Reeder in coverage, which should make finding an upgrade at the position a priority.

San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers

TRADED FIRST-ROUND PICK TO THE MIAMI DOLPHINS

Biggest needs: CB, WR, OL

Week 13 opponent: at Seahawks

DP: San Francisco could look to add more young depth for the offensive line in the offseason, especially if left guard Laken Tomlinson walks in free agency.

Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks

TRADED FIRST-ROUND PICK TO THE NEW YORK JETS

Biggest needs: DB, OL, TE

Week 13 opponent: vs. 49ers

DP: The Seahawks will be charged this offseason with plugging holes in one of the most porous pass defenses in the league, and that starts with upgrading their secondary. Two of their top CBs, D.J. Reed and Sidney Jones, and starting safety Quandre Diggs are in a contract year.
