PISCATAWAY, NJ – It’s almost time for spring sports action in Piscataway.
T-Ball registration for the Recreation Department’s 2020 baseball season began early January. The program is open to township residents ages 5, 6 and 7. Everyone must register online by Monday, March 16 at 4 p.m. in order to be placed on a team. Siblings must be registered separately.
T-ball players are invited to participate in the 2020 Little League Opening Day parade and ceremonies on Saturday, April 4 (rain date Sunday, April 5).

Registration will begin Monday, Feb. 3 for the township’s 2020 Junior Baseball and girls softball programs.
The Junior Baseball League is open to Piscataway residents ages 12, 13, 14, and 15. Players must turn 12 before August 1, 2020 and cannot turn 16 until after April 30, 2020.
The league is made up of one division in which 12-15-year-olds will compete together. All new and returning players must register to be part of a team. All registered players, regardless of skill level will be placed on teams according to a player draft.
The 2020 Junior baseball season runs from early April through mid-June and may be a traveling league playing games in northern Middlesex County and Franklin Township.

Softball registration also opens Feb. 3. All girls who register, regardless of skill level and experience will be placed on a team by the Recreation Department.
Girls in Grades 2 and 3 will be placed in the Girls Instructional Softball League while girls in Grades 4 and 5 will join the Girls Modified Pitch Softball League and girls in Grades 6-8 will be in the Girls Fast Pitch Softball League.
Games will be against teams from surrounding communities, and the season runs from early April to the end of June.

Volunteers are also needed to coach the teams. To apply, email Recreation@piscatawaynj.org to request an electronic application.
Volunteer coaches must pass a fingerprinting and background check.
