(Photo by Alius Koroliovas/Getty Images)LiAngelo Ball’s professional career didn’t get off to a strong start, but the sharpshooter from UCLA is taking steps in the right direction.
According to Shams Charania of the Athletic and Stadium, Ball is signing a contract with the Oklahoma City Blue. He reported earlier this week that Ball would receive an offer from Oklahoma City’s G-League affiliate.
Ball joined the Blue as a practice player in late 2019. Considering that he just signed a deal with the team, it’s safe to say he showed the coaching staff that he can make an impact for them on the hardwood.
This is huge news for Ball, who hasn’t received nearly as much recognition as his brothers, LaMelo and Lonzo. If he plays well in the G-League, we could potentially see him on an NBA court at some point the future.

It’s fair to wonder how LiAngelo’s career would have gone if he didn’t get busted for shoplifting in China. On the flip side, the former three-star recruit has done a great job rebuilding his image.
LiAngelo isn’t the only member of the Ball family that is trying to make the NBA. Scouts around the league believe LaMelo will be a top-five pick in the upcoming draft.
Who knows, maybe LaVar will actually get to see all three of his sons on an NBA court together.
