The weather service warns that later storms could bring large hail, possibly as large as a ping pong ball, as well as wind gusts as strong as 70 mph, mostly to areas south of Interstate 80. Winds could knock out power lines or tree limbs and flash flooding also is possible in areas such as Ottawa, Kankakee, or Bloomington, officials said.
