As the top two point guards in the 2016 recruiting class and first two point guards selected in the 2017 NBA Draft, Lonzo Ball and De'Aaron Fox will be forever linked.
Ranked and drafted behind Ball, Fox has appeared to take their head-to-head matchups very personally.

The two squared off Thursday with Fox besting ball once again, scoring 30 points and handing out 10 assists in the Sacramento Kings 140-125 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
Fox made 12 of 21 shots and added three rebounds and three steals in 37 minutes of action. It was his third career NBA game of 30+ points and 10+ assists in a win, more than Kyrie Irving and as many as Jason Kidd thru their first three seasons in the NBA.
In nine career head-to-head meetings in college and the NBA, Fox has averaged 21.8 points on 47.5 percent shooting to Ball's 12.2. But Ball hasn't been Fox's only victim during the NBA restart in Orlando.
Over his last four games since the NBA returned, Fox is averaging 27.5 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 59.3 percent from the floor. He scored a career-high 39 points in the NBA re-opener vs. the San Antonio Spurs on July 31 and finished with 28 points and nine assists vs. the Dallas Mavericks earlier this week.
The Kings, however, have dropped three of the four games to fall to 29-39 and 2.5 games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference Playoffs.
After finishing third in the NBA Most Improved Player voting behind only Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam and Brooklyn Nets guard D'Angelo Russell last season, Fox has taken another step forward this season, averaging a career-best and team-high 20.8 points per game along with career-highs in minutes per game (31.8), rebounds per game (3.9), free throw attempts per game (6.6), and field goal percentage (47.6) while starting 46 of 48 games for Sacramento this season.
The No. 5 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, the 22-year-old Fox is coming up on the final year of his 3-year, $16.5 million rookie contract with the Kings and could be in line for a major payday. He is eligible for a max extension following the conclusion of the 2019-20 season. If the Kings don't offer one, he'll become an unrestricted free agent after the 2020-21 season.
He recently told the Sacramento Bee he'd like to sign a long-term extension with the club.
"It's all the same. I see myself being here. I want to be here," Fox said. "Obviously, I want to win, but I want to do it here. It's been, what — 13, 14 years since the last time the Kings made the playoffs? I want to be a part of the first one."
During his lone season at Kentucky in 2016-17, Fox averaged 16.7 points, 4.6 assists and 4.0 rebounds en route to being named First Team All-SEC, SEC Tournament MVP and NCAA All-South Regional after scoring a career-high 39 points in an 86-75 win over Ball and UCLA in the Sweet 16. Fox's 39 points were the most-ever by a UK freshman in the NCAA Tournament.
