MOTORING AT MICHIGAN: Five drivers finished in the top 10 in both races at Michigan last season with the 550 rules package, including August winner Kevin Harvick. The others are Alex Bowman, who won at the 2-mile Auto Club Speedway this season, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr. and Daniel Suarez. Busch is still seeking his first win of the season, but has finished in the top 10 in the last six races at Michigan. Suarez was driving the No. 41 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing in 2019, which is now occupied by rookie Cole Custer, who has finished in the top 10 in four of the last five races this season. Joey Logano led 215 laps at Michigan in 2019 and won the June race. Chase Elliott leads all drivers with a 7.6 average finish at the 2-mile track, and Denny Hamlin, who has a series high five wins this season, finished second last August.
"I enjoy going to Michigan each year," said Bowman, driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. "I feel like we have had some strong finishes at the track and we really need to have a good weekend."
