On Tuesday, Klutch Sports officially announced that New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball had joined the agency. Ball spoke with ESPN’s Malika Andrews just over a week ago and revealed then that he would be leaving Roc Nation Sports to join Klutch Sports after just a short few months.

Here’s what Ball said then about the move.

“I wanted to lead my career. Picking my own representation — just solely as my decision — was step one in that process. For me, it was an easy call, and it was the right time to make that call.”

Rich Paul and Klutch represent the fourth agency to represent Ball in the last three years. After spending nearly his entire rookie year with Harrison Gaines, Ball has bounced Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to Roc Nation and now Klutch.

This move could be the most consequential of them all, though, as Ball is set for extension talks this off-season. Klutch’s reputation is one that sees Paul either get his clients paid or get them out of the franchise they’re currently in. Considering Ball has spoken highly of his time in New Orleans, it’s likely the former that is true.
