High School Roundup: Benson survives to win in five at BOLD - West Central Tribune

The Braves won the West Central Conference match 19-25, 26-24, 25-14, 10-25, 16-14.

Kimberly Pagel led Benson’s attack with 11 kills along with a team-high three blocks. Beth Cain came through with a Braves-best 16 digs with eight kills, 1-1/2 blocks and an ace serve. Ellie Moesenthin and Adysen Himley had 15 and 11 set assists, respectively.

Caylee Weber was the Warriors’ top hitter with eight kills, followed by seven by Abby Meyers. Leslie Snow had a strong night at the service line with six aces, and Delaney Tersteeg tallied 15 set assists, six digs and five ace serves.

Benson heads to Melrose on Thursday. BOLD is off until Thursday, Nov. 5 at Morris/Chokio-Alberta.

In a match-up of unbeaten, state-ranked teams, No. 4 Watertown-Mayer prevailed over No. 9 New London-Spicer in New London.

The Wildcats won the first set 25-19, but the Royals took the next three, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.

Ashlyn Olson and Aleah Zieske each had eight kills to lead NLS. Emma Hanson had 15 set assists. Ellary Peterson had three ace blocks and Mya Krause had 27 digs.
