While the Golden State Warriors have put out every signal that they are not interested in drafting LaMelo Ball, that hasn’t changed many mock drafts to still project the guard to land in the Bay Area.
NBA.com recently put together a consensus mock draft consisting of mock drafts from ESPN, The Ringer, The Athletic, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports, Bleacher Report, NetScouts Basketball, Tankathan, CBS Sport and SB Nation.
Out of the 10 mock drafts, Ball was the No. 2 pick in four of them, the most common outcome. The fact that four was the highest number also shows the variance with how Ball is viewed. While Anthony Edwards was the consensus number one pick, each of the three mock drafts that did not have him as the top pick did list Ball as the top pick.
The most recent report about Ball and the 2020 NBA Draft came from Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report as he noted that the Timberwolves may be leaning toward Ball versus Edwards.
