The Cattaraugus County Health Department reported five additional cases of COVID-19 on Election Day, which brought to 500 the total number of cases recorded in the county since testing began in March.
The county has an active caseload of 109; 373 residents have recovered from the virus, and 18 have died. Cattaraugus is among the five counties within the Western New York Region, where the rate of positive cases was determined to be at 3% on Monday, according to updates from Gov. Cuomo's office.
Among the five cases reported on Tuesday, two persons reside in the southeast quadrant of the county; two reside in the northeast quadrant, and one resides in the southwest quadrant. One is a health care worker who reports being in direct contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19. All five deny significant travel history. All five have experienced various symptoms associated with the virus.
Two of the individuals were given rapid tests on Tuesday. Two of the other cases were confirmed Monday, and another was confirmed Tuesday.

The health department undertakes thorough contact tracings for those individuals with whom persons who tested positive have been in contact and the places that they have visited.County health personnel urge any resident experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath or whole body aches contact their health care provider and avoid going directly to an urgent care facility or an emergency room.

- The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed four additional cases of COVID-19 Sunday afternoon. The total number of confirmed cases in the county since March is 486.
- The department’s active positive COVID-19 caseload is 106; 362 people have recovered from COVID-19, and 18 have died.
- Among the four, one is a woman, one is a girl and two are men. All deny being in direct contact with persons who have tested positive for COVID-19.
- Two of the cases live in the northeast quadrant of the county; one lives in the southeast quadrant, and one lives in the northwest quadrant. All have developed various symptoms associated with the disease. All received their positive test results on Saturday; three were tested on Thursday, and one was tested on Wednesday.
- The woman travels to Bradford, Pennsylvania, for her job at a health care facility and also recently attended a benefit in Bradford.
