All-American defensive back Terrion Arnold is down to five schools: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Texas A&M. The Tallahassee (Fla.) John Paul II Catholic product’s long awaited top five is the last cut he’ll make to his list before announcing a commitment in February.
It’s been over a year since the Crimson Tide offered the Top100 prospect, and UA has remained among Arnold’s top contenders ever since, the charge led by Bama assistants Charles Kelly and Sal Sunseri, among others.
Arnold had planned to make it out to Tuscaloosa last weekend for the Iron Bowl, but ended up staying back for his high school basketball game. Of note, Arnold also has the opportunity to play hoops for Nate Oats and company in Tuscaloosa, similar to five-star cornerback and UA commit Ga’Quincy McKinstry.
The Tide has five defensive backs committed thus far in its 2021 class, including the aforementioned McKinstry, along with the top junior college cornerback in Khyree Jackson, four-star Ohio native Devonta Smith, four-star safety Kaine Williams, and four-star athlete Kadarius Calloway. Despite the numbers, Arnold has remained a top priority for the Bama staff with his unique skillset that can be catered to all over the defensive secondary.

At 6-foot, 180 pounds, Arnold is rated the No. 6 safety and the No. 147 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Here is Arnold’s 247Sports evaluation:
“A twitchy athlete with a compact build and a bounce to his step. Has played primarily safety at the high school level, but is versatile enough to probably get it done at cornerback in college. High IQ football player that closes extremely fast on the ball and can anticipate quarterback’s moves. Very physical and likes contact. Will outmuscle receivers to win a jump ball, if needed. Can quickly get across the field to clean up mistakes. A threat to score anytime the ball finds its way into his hands. Quick, but could get faster. Has the opportunity to also play basketball in college. One of the more complete defensive back prospects in a loaded 2021 class for the Sunshine State. Should sign with a Top 25 program and develop into an all-conference type player. Potential is there to play on Sundays.”
