Time For Tipoff:

- Saturday's game marks the eighth-straight season the Cardinals have played Western Kentucky. Ball State has won two out of the last three meetings against the Lady Toppers. The last time the Cardinals played in E.A. Diddle Arena was on Dec. 16, 2018. Ball State won that meeting by score of 86-83. Last season, the Lady Toppers won in overtime 86-91 at Ball State on Dec. 7 in Worthen Arena.

- Today's meeting with the Lady Toppers is the 10th all-time. The Cardinals lead the all-time series record, 5-4

- The Cardinals are the only non-conference team Western Kentucky has faced every year since 2013-14.

- Western Kentucky has played only one game thus far this season. The Lady Toppers opened their season at Tennessee on Nov. 28 losing to the Lady Vols, 47-87.

- Ball State will be looking for its first win of the season at Western Kentucky Saturday. The Cardinals have fell to Milwaukee (56-67), IUPUI (49-73) and Eastern Michigan (58-77). Ball State and Eastern Michigan are the only Mid-American Conference teams who have played each other thus far.

Scouting Western Kentucky:
• The Lady Toppers are coached by Greg Collins who is in his third season at the helm of Western Kentucky. Prior to becoming the head coach, Collins served as an associate head coach and an assistant coach for WKU.  Collins replaced Michelle Clark-Heard.. Clark-Heard is currently the head coach at Cincinnati.

• The Lady Toppers finished their 2019-20 season with a 22-7 overall record and a 14-4 Conference USA mark. WKU went 12-1 in its last 13 games of the season. Much like the rest of the college basketball world, the Lady Toppers couldn't participate in the 2020 Conference USA Tournament due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

• The Cardinals should be on the lookout out for freshman Ally Collett who was recently named Conference USA's Freshman of the Week. She scored a team-high 16 points at Tennessee last Saturday after going 4-of-7 from behind the arc and 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. Her 16 points is the highest points total for a WKU freshmen debut since Courtney Clifton scored 22 points on Nov. 14, 2009.

• The Lady Toppers were picked to finish fifth in the Conference-USA preseason poll. WKU has one of the youngest teams in the Conference-USA this season after losing three of its five starters from last year's squad.

It's Been Nine Years

Ball State ninth-year head coach Brady Sallee has guided the Cardinals to a wealth of success over his nine-year tenure at Ball State. Under his guidance, Ball State has made six appearances in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). Sallee is also the winningest head coach in program history with 149 victories.
