Ball State Online earns Military Friendly designation again - Ball State University News

Ball State University’s online programs have again earned a “Military Friendly” designation from the veteran-owned company Viqtory.

Ball State has earned this designation every year since Viqtory began its Military Friendly Schools list in 2009.

The designation demonstrates that the university offers top-notch support for students of all backgrounds, said Jayson Jarrett, Assistant Director of Ball State’s Veteran Affairs.

“We take care of our students,” Jarrett said. “We process their benefits, answer their questions, refer them to appropriate resources. We treat them as partners from day one in their lifelong journey to fulfilling careers and meaningful lives.”

The announcement from Viqtory is the second of its kind in recent weeks for Ball State. Earlier this year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Ball State 17th for master’s degrees in education programs and 37th for bachelor’s program in “Best Online Programs for Veterans” for 2021.

“We owe it to all students to make sure they have the support they need to succeed, especially those who have chosen to serve our country,” said Dr. Trudi Weyermann, Assistant Provost for Learning Initiatives.

According to Viqtory, the Military Friendly Schools list has come to set the standard for higher education institutions to provide the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses. The list provides a comprehensive guide for veterans and their families using data from federal agencies and proprietary survey information.

The Military Friendly Schools list is based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly Schools survey from participating institutions.

Founded in 2001, Viqtory is a veteran-owned small business that connects the military community to civilian employment, educational and entrepreneurial opportunities through its G.I. Jobs and Military Friendly brands.

The Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine.
