GREENSBORO, N.C. – Five Hokies were named to the ACC Men's Basketball All-Academic Team on Tuesday, as announced by the league office.

Justyn Mutts, Jalen Cone and Hunter Cattoor earned the honor for the first time, while Wabissa Bede (2018-19)  and Nahiem Alleyne (2020-21) were named to the team for the second time.

With No. 22/19 Virginia Tech (15-5, 9-4 ACC) having five players to its name, it tied for the most of any team in the league, joining Clemson (16-16, 10-6) and No. 16/15 Virginia (17-6, 13-4).

Three of the players (Alleyne, Cattoor, Cone) are majoring in human development, while both Bede and Mutts are earning their master's degrees in agriculture and life sciences. Bede's concentration is leadership and Mutts' concentration is education.

The five players being named marks the most in school history since joining the ACC, topping the previous best of four (2014, 2019).

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.

These are the two of 15 players named to this year's team. Florida State's Trent Forrest was named the recipient of the league's 2020 Skip Prosser Award, given annually to the top scholar-athlete in ACC men's basketball. It is named in memory of Wake Forest head basketball coach George Edward "Skip" Prosser, who passed away on July 26, 2007.
