Men's Golf Has Five Named to Academic All-MAC Team - EMU Eagles

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team saw five of its student-athletes named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team, the league office announced today, June 17.

Seniors Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St Joseph's Catholic), Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada -Mayfield Secondary), and Tyler Rayman (Otsego, Mich.-Otsego) collected the honor for the second time, while Zack Mason (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Blyth Academy Lawrence Park) and Max Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) picked up their first academic distinction from the conference.

Ball State, Northern Illinois and Ohio led the way with six student-athletes apiece. NIU's Jordan Less was the only student-athlete to post a 4.0 GPA on this year's team.

The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
