This year’s Overwatch Anniversary event brought a bunch of great new skins to the game. Perhaps the one that received the most attention was Funky Baptiste, a fantastic disco-inspired look for the Haitian healer.
However, myself and many fans felt Team 4 missed a trick with the skin. Baptiste’s Immortality Field (or lamp) looked the same as always. That’s despite a much better, fairly obvious alternative. Thankfully, Blizzard’s art team agreed. So, following a future update, the Immortality Field will be a disco ball after all. Praise be.
Having the lamp as a disco ball when Baptiste’s wearing this skin just makes so much sense. Here’s hoping your teammates all have dance emotes equipped so they can strut their stuff under the Immortality Field’s protective aura.
If you want to deploy the disco ball whenever your team’s in trouble and you don’t already have the Funky Baptiste skin yet, you’ll need to hurry. The Anniversary event ends today, likely at 2PM ET. After that, the skin will be locked away until next year’s Anniversary event.
