Jon Scheyer's first recruiting class as Duke's next head basketball coach is starting to take shape.
Five-star small forward Dariq Whitehead announced his commitment to play for the Blue Devils on Sunday night. Whitehead's announcement comes three days after fellow five-star recruit Kyle Filipowski also committed to Duke. Both will be eligible to play in Scheyer's first season in 2022.
Whitehead also revealed recently had a $500,000 offer to play in the G-League next season but opted to play in college instead.
A 6-6, 190-pound wing from Newark, New Jersey, Whitehead also had offers from Florida State, Kansas, Auburn and Florida. He currently plays for Monteverde Academy in Florida.
