This week had theme among Oklahoma State commits. Week five was the week of the blowout win. Half of the recruiting class that played this week (Frisco Lone Star had a bye, so six out of 12) won by at least 40 points! Two more commits won their games by way of their team scoring more than 40 points, even though they didn’t win by 40!
Of course with all those points scored, there were some serious numbers put up. Check out all the week action here.
Ollie Gordon, Running Back
The last time L.D. Bell beat Euless (TX) Trinity was 1997. On Thursday night... that streak continued in shutout fashion.
Ollie Gordon ran for 246 yards and five touchdowns against Trinity’s biggest rivals. The Trojans raced past Bell for the 24th-straight win a row against the Raiders, 48-0. Gordon has started most games at quarterback, but only played running back against Bell because starting running back Gary Maddox missed the game.

Next up for Trinity (4-1, 2-0) is a road tilt with North Crowley where Gordon will likely run for no less than a million yards, again.
Talyn Shettron, Wide Receiver
Tabry Shettron, Tight End
I am sad to report I scoured every source I could find, and did not see stats for Edmond (OK) Santa Fe’s game. The Wolves beat Edmond Memorial 49-21 last week. The only other notable thing I could find was some nice Talyn Shettron highlights.
Next up is a home tilt with Westmoore. (p.s., can someone talk to Westmoore about changing it to West Moore???)
Braylin Presley, Athlete
Remember the L.D. Bell versus Trinity score above? Braylin Presley and Bixby saw Ollie Gordon and Trinity and raised them by, oh, a casual 23 points.
The Bixby (OK) machine kept it rolling with a 71-0 win against Bartlesville last week. Presley finished with near-identical lines on the ground and through the air. The offensive Swiss Army Knife ran six times for 113 yards and two scores while catching six passes for another 106 yards. Obviously it was an early curtain call for the starters in such a dominant win, so 219 yards and two scores is a nice night.
Next up is at 3-1 Choctaw.
Cameron Epps, Athlete
Epps will play cornerback at Oklahoma State, but plays a little bit of everything for Chaminade (MO). That was apparent when looking at Chaminade’s box score from last week.
The Red Devils (2-3) took down Granite City 64-7 and Epps put up video game numbers. He finished with 11 carries for 205 yards and five touchdowns, and added 68 yards and two more scores on 5-of-9 passing. Throw in a casual 60-yard punt return and Epps racked up eight total touchdowns by himself!
Next up for Chaminade is a home game against 0-5 Vianney.
Dylahn McKinney, Cornerback
Another OSU commit with another big week five win.
Colleyville (TX) Heritage took down Richland 45-29 despite totaling just 199 yards passing and 86 yards rushing as a team for the game. This was partly because Heritage picked off Richland quarterback CJ Nelson — a natural wide receiver and an SMU commit — three times.
One of those INT’s fell into the hands of DJ McKinney, who ran his interception back for a touchdown. McKinney also finished with two quarterback hurries according to Maxpreps.

Here’s a few bullet points on how the rest of the class did.
- Quarterback Garret Rangel is still out with a knee injury. His Frisco (TX) Lone Star squad had the week off and will face Frisco Reedy on the road this weekend. Rangel — who is expected back by the end of the regular season — received an MVP bobblehead from Inside High School Sports on NBC 5 for outstanding play so far in his career:
- Mason Gilkey and Pawhuska (OK) picked up a blowout win against Commerce, 75-14. Gilkey finished with five catches for 116 yards. I assume some of those were probably touchdowns, but that isn’t listed on Maxpreps. Gilkey also had a tackle and a pass defended as a defensive back. Pawhuska (2-2) takes on 3-1 Fairland next.
- Offensive lineman Austin Kawecki and Frisco (TX) Lebanon Trail lost to a great Frisco team, 48-13 last week. Next up is a road tilt with Frisco Liberty, though the No. 3 overall player in the class of 2022 — WR Evan Stewart — won’t play the rest of the season for the Redhawks.
- Defensive lineman Landon Dean and Frontenac (KS) added to the OSU commits who picked up blowout, shutout wins with a 41-0 dub against Iola. Next up for Frontenac (3-1) is 2-2 Burlington.
- DL Jaleel Johnson and Putnam City (OK) North took down Grant 69-3. PC North is now 3-1 and faces 3-1 Deer Creek next.
- LB Gabe Brown and Stillwater (OK) rallied to beat Deer Creek 35-28 in overtime to advance to 3-1. The Pioneers face 3-1 Del City next.
