The loss moves the Blue and Orange to 15-6 overall and 4-5 in conference play, while the Aggies remain in second-place at 15-6 and 7-2 in league.
"It's a tough loss, but credit Utah State. I thought they played with great intensity, even after a slow start for them," said head coach Shawn Garus. "I thought they stayed the course and were the more consistent team throughout the match."
Garus was happy with how the team battled back in the fourth set, "I'm glad that we were able to push it to five, but nothing was comfortable tonight. It just looked like a grind, I don't think we passed the ball particularly well, and we just weren't as aggressive as our opponents were tonight."
The Broncos led nearly the entire way in the opening set and won it by two points after the Aggies rallied late to make it close.
