WILMINGTON, North Carolina – After an exciting non-conference victory over North Carolina, the UNCW men's soccer team returns to Colonial Athletic Association play on Saturday, Oct. 2, with a 7 p.m. fixture against Northeastern inside the UNCW Soccer Stadium.
 
Saturday's game can be seen online via FloFC.com (subscription required) with Jim Whitmeyer handling the play-by-play duties. In addition, live stats will be available at UNCWStats.com.
 
The Seahawks, who are completing a three-game homestand on Saturday, will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night during the game against Northeastern. Team Teal members can receive a free "Los Seahawks" t-shirt at the game.
 
In addition, Saturday's game is also a "Youth Game" where free admission will be granted to kids aged 3-15 wearing a soccer jersey to the game.
 
Now 6-3-0 on the season, the Seahawks have split their first two CAA contests after last Saturday's thrilling 4-2 victory over Delaware. UNCW brings a two-game winning streak into the month of October after surging past North Carolina on Wednesday by a 2-1 final.
 
Freshman midfielder Adam Hillis netted the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute when he deflected a corner kick from graduate student defender Michael Hornsby into the net for the first marker of his college career.
 
Northeastern, 7-1-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the CAA, has won five straight contests after securing a 3-2 victory over Quinnipiac last Saturday. The Huskies, who are playing on the road for the fourth time in five matches, have tallied 12 goals during the five-game win streak while four of the victories have been decided by one goal.
 
Redshirt junior forward Timothy Ennin paces the Huskies' offense with five goals and two assists while sophomore forward/midfielder Federico Tellez has contributed three goals with a team-high five assists. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Colby Hegarty has started all nine games, authoring a 1.15 goals against average while stopping 81.0 percent of the shots he has faced.
 
FIVE FACTS TO KNOW
Just the Facts – UNCW leads the all-time series against Northeastern by an 8-6-3 margin, including a 5-2-0 mark in the last seven meetings.      
 
Close Calls – There have been 12 meetings between UNCW and Northeastern decided by one goal or less, including three overtime outings.    
 
Three's Company – The Seahawks have won their last three home games by a combined 9-3 margin after Wednesday's 2-1 victory over North Carolina.
