WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW hopes to continue its momentum in Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer play on Saturday, Oct. 30, when the Seahawks host long-time rival William & Mary in the home finale at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.
 
Saturday's game, which is set for a 7 p.m. kick-off, will be broadcast online via FloFC.com (subscription required) with Jim Whitmeyer and Tom Lamont calling the action. In addition, live stats can be found at UNCWStats.com.
 
UNCW, 9-5-1 overall and 4-2-0 in the CAA, has won its last two conference contests after blanking the College of Charleston, 1-0, last Saturday at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point. The victory vaulted the Seahawks into a tie for second place in the league standings with James Madison.
 
The Seahawks used a goal from junior forward Cannon Tootle in the 44th minute to provide the difference, while junior goalkeeper Gabriel Perrotta registered his fifth shutout of the season with two saves.  
 
Junior midfielder Omar Aboutaleb and graduate student forward Nicolas Molina continue to pace UNCW offensively with 13 points apiece. Aboutaleb has netted five goals with three assists, while Molina has a team-high six goals with an assist.
 
Perrotta has played every minute in goal for Coach Aidan Heaney's club, authoring a 1.32 goals against average and .767 save percentage.
 
William & Mary owns a 6-6-0 overall record and a 3-3-0 mark in league play after edging Delaware, 3-2, on the road last Sunday afternoon. The Tribe carries a three-game win streak into Saturday's tilt with the Seahawks, outscoring its opponents by a 6-2 count during that time.
 
Junior midfielder/forward Alexander Levengood registered a brace for the Tribe, which overcame a 1-0 deficit in the third minute with three consecutive goals to earn the victory. The two-goal effort gave Levengood a team-high six markers on the season.
 
Sophomore Will Stack and junior Connor Andrews have split time in goal for Coach Chris Norris, combining to register a 1.75 goals against average while stopping 69.6 percent of their opponent's shots.
 
FIVE FACTS TO KNOW
Hello Old Friend – Saturday's game marks the 51st all-time meeting between UNCW and William & Mary. The Tribe owns a 35-9-6 advantage in the series, but the Seahawks are 4-1-1 in the last six installments.     
 
Senior Salute – The Seahawks will honor their seven seniors in a pregame ceremony on the occasion of their final home game at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.         
 
Too Close for Comfort – UNCW has played in seven straight games decided by a goal or less after last Saturday's 1-0 win over Charleston.      
 
Fire the Cannon – Junior forward Cannon Tootle has scored three of his four goals this season in the last six games, including the lone marker against Charleston last week.        
 
Home Run – UNCW has won 10 of its last 11 home contests after the overtime victory against James Madison two weeks ago. Since 2018, the Seahawks stand 21-4-3 on their home field.
