The Charlotte Hornets have signed LiAngelo Ball to a non-guaranteed contract and Ball will play for the G League's Greensboro Swarm, sources told The Athletic on Thursday. Ball was slated to enter the G League Draft, sources told The Athletic earlier this week, but signing allows Charlotte to acquire his rights.
Ball averaged 9.6 points in 17.4 minutes per game in five Summer League appearances.
Ball's older brother, Lonzo, has played for the Lakers and Pelicans and was traded this offseason to the Bulls. His younger brother, LaMelo, was drafted No. 3 by the Hornets in 2020 and won 2020-21 NBA Rookie of the Year honors.
