MILL CREEK — Senior Garrett Gibson has emerged as a weapon — both offensively and defensively — for Tygarts Valley this season.
Gibson’s offensive production for the Bulldogs has came in the form of receiving and running the ball. He’s also produced points in the kicking department.
On defense, Gibson, who also plays basketball and baseball for TV, is among the state leaders in interceptions with five, and has also scored three times on that side of the ball, returning two interceptions for paydirt and a fumble for another.
Gibson and Tygarts Valley are 3-3 on the season, including dropping a road game at Class A top-rated East Hardy and an overtime decision to Clay-Battelle.
The Bulldogs are seeking to return to the single-A playoffs for the third straight season.
They close the season with road games at Pendleton County and Trinity Christian and finish at home against Pocahontas County and Doddridge County.
Tygarts Valley travels to Pendleton County at 7 p.m. on Friday.
