The Atlanta Falcons front office needs to move on from the veterans on this roster and fully commit to a rebuild. Matt Ryan is a great quarterback but not an elite player capable of taking a bad roster to the playoffs.
This is something Atlanta has learned each of the last three seasons. They refuse to move on from the veteran or to be aggressive to bring in talent around Ryan.
While they are committed to Ryan past this season it is time to move on from the rest of their veterans and start a rebuild. If done correctly a rebuild can be quickly accelerated and it is hard to see it being more painful than Atlanta’s past three seasons.
Atlanta has pieces that can net them extra draft picks without severely hurting their chances to win each week. They need to determine who their building blocks are and move on from players that aren’t going to help them win in the seasons to come.
A.J. Terrell and Kyle Pitts are two clear examples of players the Falcons need to build around and plan to have in Atlanta for years to come. Anyone outside of these two players should be on the trading block as we close in on the Tuesday deadline. Here are five players that Atlanta should attempt to move in the next 24-hours.
