LAKE CHARLES— McNeese women's basketball will begin a challenging five-game road stretch that will see the Cowgirls on the road for all but one home game in the month of December. The stretch includes games against teams from four different conferences beginning with Wednesday's 6 p.m. contest at Mississippi State (5-1). The game can be seen on SECN+ and can be heard on TalkRadio 1470 (Talk1470.com) with Bruce Merchant calling all the action.
 
Other road games for the Cowgirls in the month of December will be at Lamar (Dec. 7), California (Dec. 11), Oregon (Dec. 13) and at UL-Monroe (Dec. 18). The only home game in December will be against La. Tech on Dec. 22.
 
McNeese (3-3) will look to get off to a quicker start than in previous games including its 67-57 home loss against UL-Lafayette on Sunday.
 
Kaili Chamberlin and Desirae Hansen enter the game as the only two Cowgirls averaging in double figures. Chamberlin, who has scored in double figures the last two games is averaging 11.3 ppg.  Hansen is averaging 10.8 ppg. and is coming off a game high 19 points against the Cajuns.
 
Junior Divine Tanks is coming off the bench to lead McNeese with 8.3 rpg. Tanks has pulled down double figure rebounds in her last two games including a season high 16 against UL-Lafayette on Sunday.
 
Mississippi State is coming off its first loss of the season, a 64-48 loss to No. 12/9 Michigan last Saturday at the Daytona Beach Invitational.
 
The Bulldogs have three players averaging in double figures with Rickea Jackson averaging 19.8 ppg. Tulane transfer Jerkaila Jordan is averaging 17.5 ppg., and Anastasia Hayes is averaging 14.2 ppg. Denae Carter leads the team with 6.8 rpg. Jordan is averaging 6.7 rpg. while Jackson is pulling down 6.0 per game.

NEXT UP
McNeese will travel just across the state line to Beaumont, Texas for a 7 p.m. game against former Southland Conference foe Lamar next Tuesday, Dec. 7.
 
NEXT HOME GAME
McNeese will return home on Dec. 22 to host La. Tech in its only home game in the month of December.
