The giant ball of human hair decorated for New Year's celebrations. The ball of human hair set a new record coming in at 226 pounds.

It took the hair of 3,000 people to create a giant ball of human hair that has set a new record. 

The 225-pound ball of human hair, which is equivalent to 300 cans of soup or 15 bowling balls, was developed and set by Steve Warden, a salon owner in Cambridge, Ohio.

"When it came time to actually take all the hair that I saved and actually form it into a ball, I went to the hardware store and I bought several different types of glue," he told Guinness World Records.

Henry Coffer, a barber from Charleston, Missouri, held the previous record with a 167-pound ball of human hair.

Dominic Genetti was born and raised in St. Louis and has been in the media industry since 2003. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northwest Missouri State University, and has covered a variety of subjects including hard news, courts, enterprise features, and sports.
