Shortly after Klay Thompson's triumphant return on Jan. 9, the Warriors tweeted a six-second video of Steph Curry's 3-year-old son Canon giving the shooting guard the game ball in the locker room.
Two weeks later, we now have the extended behind-the-scenes version and it is even better than anyone could have imagined.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr called Canon over, gave him the ball and told him he needed to give it to somebody.
"Give it to Kevon Looney. He had 18 rebounds tonight," Kerr said, drawing laughs from all the players. "No, no. Give it to Klay. Give it to Klay."
Canon passed the ball to Klay but then proceeded to take the ball back. He started dribbling the ball around the locker room, much to the delight of the players.
At one point, Canon got ambitious and fell while trying to dribble the ball in the middle of the locker room, but he got right back up, tracked the wayward ball down and eventually passed it back to Klay, who put the ball among his belongings for safekeeping.
After missing 941 days due to a torn left ACL and a torn right Achilles, Thompson returned to the Warriors lineup against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center and finished with 17 points on 7-of-18 shooting from the field in just under 20 minutes of action.
