Ball State improved to 9-8 overall and 4-1 in MAC play, while Bowling Green fell to 2-12 overall and 0-5 in the conference. Quartermaine recorded eight RBIs and is the first Cardinal to record seven or more RBIs since Sean Kennedy collected nine RBIs against Bowling Green on April 15, 2017. The Cardinals added another run on a Ryan Peltier sac fly to center.

Wright singled to left field with two outs in the bottom of the second and advanced to third on an error by the left fielder. Quartermaine followed with an RBI single to right. Nick Powell doubled off the right center wall, which scored Quartermaine from first. After Matthew Rivera drew a walk, Peltier singled to left and drove in Powell. Adam Christianson doubled to right center to drive in two more runs. Cole tripled off the left center wall as the Cardinals recorded six runs in back-to-back innings. Ball State led 12-0 after three innings.

BSU nearly made it three-straight innings with six runs in the bottom of the fourth. Lane started the fourth inning with a triple off the center field wall. After Wright was hit by a pitch, Quartermaine launched homer number two of the game for a three-shot to right field that landed on Tillotson Avenue. Peltier drew a two-out walk. Christianson belted his second home run of the season with a shot to right center and extended the Cardinal lead to 17-0 after four.

The Falcons got on the board in the top of the seventh on a Nathan Archer double to right field. Ball State went on to win the game 17-1.

Quartermaine finished the day with a 3-for-4 performance on two home runs, eight RBIs, and three runs scored.
