Rising junior Jason Woodward leads the group as he heads up to Massachusetts to play in the prestigious Cape Cod League for the Wareham Gatemen. The Eagles have sent a few players up to The Cape, most notably Chris Sale back in 2009 when he was named Pitcher of the Year after going 4-2 with a 1.47 ERA and 57 strikeouts in nine games for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.
A few other members of the Green and Blue will head out of state, headlined by the trio of rising juniors Mason Miller and Mac Moise as well as rising sophomore Harrison Povey, who will all be teammates for the Peninsula Pilots in the Coastal Plains League, the same league that features the semi-famous Savannah Bananas. The Pilots have already kicked off their summer season and Moise and Miller have shone bright already as Moise leads the league with three home runs in just 14 at-bats while Miller opened the summer with five strikeouts in five scoreless innings. Povey has also notched a home run under his belt in his first two games.
Rising junior Daniel Batcher heads up to Virginia as he will play for the Waynesboro Generals of the Valley Baseball League. In his first appearance of the summer, he struck out three in 1.2 innings pitched.
Carter LaValley, another rising junior, will head back to his home state of Oklahoma to play for Sandlot OKC of the D-Bat League. He will look to put together a good summer after battling some injuries this past spring.
The other six Eagles will all stay in Florida, playing in three different leagues. Rising junior Trevor Kole and redshirt-freshman Dylan Wolff will both play for the Boca Raton Blazers of the South Florida Collegiate League. Kole has a couple of hits and four RBI in three games so far this summer for the Blazers while Wolff threw three scoreless innings with five strikeouts in his first game action of the year after redshirting in his first season for the Eagles.
Pitchers Dawson Place and Connor O'Hara will also be teammates this summer as they will play for the Bradenton Juice of the Florida Gulf Coast League. Stephen Wilmer will be going up against them as he will also play in the FGCL, suiting up for the Florida International Baseball Academy.
David Parker rounds of the Eagles on the Summer Circuit this year as he heads to the Florida Collegiate League to play for the Seminole County Snappers. So far in three games for the Snappers, he has reached base a couple of times and scored a run while also catching a shutout on June 5th against the DeLand Suns.
