Jermaine Burton and LaMelo Ball are in an interesting conversation.
The wide receiver for Alabama football and point guard for the Charlotte Hornets are in a debate on who originated the phrase “not from here.” Burton, who transferred from Georgia to the Crimson Tide, posted a video to Instagram calling out Ball and saying he’s the originator of the phrase.

Burton has an opportunity to secure a first-round NFL Draft stock, but he is off base with this argument.
Ball has been using the phrase since 2020, and it has been used in several of his posts on Twitter and Instagram.
Ball also has the alien spaceship in his Twitter and Instagram bios.
He has used the “not from here” phrase in different commercials for Puma. Burton does not have the spaceship for his social media bios. He has used the phrase, but Ball has a stronger case of being the originator than Burton. We shall see how Burton performs in the regular season for Alabama. He is trying to win back-to-back national championships for two different schools.
