Local water watchdog Santa Barbara Channelkeeper will celebrate 20 years of clean water and community impact at the virtual Blue Water Ball – Second Sail, 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Santa Barbara Channelkeeper is taking its 2020 Blue Water Ball online.
The free, brief virtual celebration will feature Geoff Green as master of ceremonies, a message from board president Mike Wondolowski; a few surprises; and the kickoff of the Silent Auction and Raffle, which will be open for online bidding Sept. 9-23.
The Blue Water Ball is Channelkeeper's most important fundraiser of the year, raising critical funds that enable the organization to monitor the health of waterways, advocate for clean water and environmental justice, hold polluters accountable, and educate and inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
The Blue Water Ballis free, but participants must register in advance at https://www.sbck.org/bwb20/. Once registered, an email with the link to join the event will be sent.
To shop the auction and buy raffle tickets, visit https://paybee.io/quickpay.html?handle=cleansb_h2o&ppid=1#optionList. Items on offer include vacation and adventure experiences, art, fine local wine and dining, jewelry, outdoor adventure gear, and other deals from local businesses.
